Creating Content using a journalistic approach

Employment in the Media include jobs such as investigative reporting and editing. This is essential to maintaining a free society. There is much work for reporters and editors who are interested print or broadcast journalism.


Some of the audio/visual production work that I do includes gathering investigative content and producing a program. Investigative reporting, although it appears to be "Withering Away", is important. Investigative journalism uncovers corruption and unethical practices that plague our communities daily.



For the last two years, I have been exposed to several public educators and several administrators in Essex County who are notorius for defaming the characters and pushing out students who will not tolerate their unethical actions. For the next three months I will be publishing a blockbuster investigative series uncovering, public educators that are discriminating against and defaming students (and their parents) that defiantly fight back.

Dilemma: Community Work VS. Professional Community Work

I have been extremely committed to community work and advocating for human rights issues however, I am now faced with making a decision between that and my professional community work. I have been working on the e-board of a Human Rights Coalition for the last year but was recently asked to join the Executive Board of a national women's engineering society. The Human Rights coalition just lost their ED and some Board members and their is a level of uncertainty. I need some opinions on this.

LAW|Engineering|Published Works: Full Circle

After several years of preparation for what I call coming full circle I have been forced to research and look at litigation, statutes and cases on unethical practices involving many individuals starting with some cases that I have been exposed to through my community work and while taking a digital crime class taken this past Fall.
This also comes at a time when I am celebrating the 25th anniversary of my first time working with some of the best and brightest in law enforcement. My parent's vision was criminal law, my vision was and still is directly related to what I do....and I won't be practicing even though lately I have this hunch that the creator is leading me in that direction. I've only fought it for 25 years!!!! I still have some years of industry that I would like to continue in working as a creator and somewhat of a protector of IP. But seriously, I truly despise people who engage in unethical practices and justify it by changing policies, scapegoating, coming up with creative blocking devices, forming the "unethical alliances" to lie and cover up, and individuals who blatantly disregard the law. You could not pay me a million dollars to represent one. However, I am aware of some serpents who would. My son and I frequently watch "Liar, Liar". It is hilarious but definitely has an underlying social message.


25 years ago my mom took me to see an attorney (presently a Supreme Court Justice) on my graduation day in hopes that I became a practicing attorney.

While preparing for work in the courts I sought advice, listened to stories, and got clarification of expectations. Needless to say, I began work with these attorneys, clerks, judges, court officers and performed so well that I was asked to return year after year however, the third year I chose to accept an offer at a start of a serious career in entertainment and media. While there, I admired one clerk so much (he is also now a judge) that I mocked everything that he did, watched how he dealt with the public and paid close attention to his professional style and mannerisms. I worked in arraignments, warrants and various other areas and was completely turned off by some, not all individuals in this area of law. Although I entertained, working on and creating content for the listening and viewing audiences, through various mediums, I continued to work in news media and my next job was writing for a youth newspaper called NYC. I was assigned a mentor from the Wall Street Journal that I met with weekly and pulled my connects together and wrote a special a supplement on juvenille justice and my direct knowledge of the penal system. I also wrote articles on race relations, and discrimination and many other important social topics. While working on the article "An Overview of the Court System", I was introduced to a non-profit organization called

EVC that made videos analogous to our stories that were written in NYC.

When I saw how compelling it was to take written and printed visual content and transform it into a moving medium, it was then that I determined that this was going to be my primary modality of the expression and my editor at the paper made sure that I went to college to major in Broadcast, Television and Corporate Cable Communications. Correct the expression if need be. So what brings me to my topic of Illegal Subpeonas, while working on a domestic violence case (personal volunteer work), I was exposed to a case involving corruption on the part of the local police department, a Judge....well it is more like several judges, an Ombudsman, an embarrassed attorney with his sleazy, pathetical lying client, a former ousted prosecutor who should be disbarred, banned from ever working or showing her face again (she happens to work in the public school system which is a great segway into next week's topic of discussion), and last but not least a telecommunications service provider that was served an illegal subpeona to block the records of incoming and outgoing calls of individuals. I found some links that discuss how this is a regular occurence. I am not one to pull favors, join clicks, or form alliances, I am used to standing alone, but my recent volunteer work has led me to the conclusion that a phonecall, or two, or three (from a non biased service provider) doesn't hurt in the least bit.
